It\u2019s more like a small-scale moving operation \u2014 with guaranteed muscle ache the next day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Before one photo shoot, I stopped at a flower shop. Both shoulders were loaded with overstuffed IKEA bags, I had a studio light in one hand and a glass vase in the other. All I needed was the right bouquet of flowers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The florist was on the phone. She looked at me, then gestured firmly:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cGo away!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I stared at her, completely confused.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Then, even more irritably:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI\u2019m not buying anything!!!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So there I stood with two IKEA bags, a studio light and a vase, thinking that surely my outfit made it fairly obvious that I wasn\u2019t exactly a door-to-door salesperson \u2014 or one of those perfume sellers jumping out of a Mercedes. For a few seconds, I had absolutely no idea what she was talking about.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Then it clicked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She thought I was trying to sell her the vase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I started laughing. Then she did too. We stood there laughing for several minutes while she apologised profusely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And ever since, I\u2019ve been wondering:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Maybe it\u2019s time to rethink the outfit I had always considered so perfectly me\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n
